This policy covers our
website and general business. Information about participants we serve through Coordinated Family Support is also governed by our
Notice of Privacy Practices. Text messaging is covered by our
SMS / Texting Policy, and cookies by our
Cookie Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us — such as your name, email address, phone number, and the details you include when you contact us, request services, or apply for a job.
- Service-related information — information needed to coordinate services for an eligible individual and their family (see our Notice of Privacy Practices).
- Automatic website information — basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar analytics collected through cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request.
- To coordinate care and communicate with you, your family, and (where authorized) your regional center service coordinator and care team.
- To send updates, notifications, and service-related details (and, only with your consent, text messages — see our SMS Policy).
- To operate, maintain, and improve our website and services.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. When we share information
We share information only as needed and as permitted by law, including:
- With your regional center and care team, as necessary to coordinate authorized services.
- With service providers who help us operate (for example, secure software hosting), under agreements that require them to protect your information and use it only for our purposes.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or well-being of individuals we serve.
We do not share your information with advertisers, and we do not sell or rent personal information. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent are never shared with third parties for their marketing.
4. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here and to meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements (including recordkeeping rules that apply to developmental-disability services). When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
5. How we protect information
We use a modern, HIPAA-minded platform and administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of records at rest and in transit;
- Role-based access on a “minimum necessary” basis — staff see only the information they need;
- Mandatory two-factor authentication on every staff sign-in;
- Audit logging of access and changes; and
- Automated backups and ongoing monitoring.
No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information and continually review our safeguards. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.
6. Your choices and rights
- You may ask to review, correct, or update the personal information you've given us.
- You may opt out of text messages at any time (reply STOP) and unsubscribe from non-essential emails.
- California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
7. Children's privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website. Information about minors who may be part of a family we serve is handled only as needed to provide services and with appropriate consent.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
